The gorgeous "American Plan" lodge and cabins, referred to by Canadian tourism officials as Ontario's "crown jewel of the north", has the distinction of being the only facility on Kesagami Lake and that makes for spectacular fishing. Guests who stay at Kesagami experience the peace and serenity of the northern Canadian wilderness while enjoying the best fishing that Canada has to offer.

Virtually every guest has the best chance to catch the biggest pike of their life at Kesagami. However, some anglers visit just for the walleye fishing alone. From the end of May through to the end of June, it is not uncommon to catch over 100 fish in a day.

As summer progresses, the walleye fishing becomes more challenging as the fish spread out through the lake

The very biggest pike are often caught in July when anglers cover a number of maturing weedbeds to find these massive trophies. Legendary catches of 20 or more "trophy" fish in a day are usually associated with spawning and unique bait fish activity.

Single barbless hook and catch & release policies are in effect to keep these fish protected for everyone to enjoy.

If you are interested in hiring a boat captain or guide, Kesagami staff prides itself on taking care of you whether you're a novice or serious trophy hunter.

Kesagami guests can choose either private and intimate log cabins or stay in the magnificent lodge with its deluxe staterooms with private washrooms (showers, toilet).

After a day's fishing, join the others for a cocktail in the beautiful and spacious guest lounge. Ward off the chill by the massive stone fireplace, shoot pool, try a game of shuffleboard, enjoy a drink at the bar, or just relax, read, or watch a movie. As time allows, take a stroll along self-directed

Kesagami Wilderness Lodge lies about 95 miles northeast of Cochrane, Ontario, or about 65 miles southeast of Moosonee. From our main base in Cochrane, it's about an hour by floatplane. From Toronto, you can drive to Cochrane on good roads in eight hours. Or you can fly to Timmins on a commercial flight. From there, it's just a 70 minute van ride to our floatplane base.
